The Dragon is one of the most thrilling chess openings and a favorite of attacking players. But can this sharp and provocative system still be played in the modern era? GM Gawain Jones says “Yes!”In this two-volume work, the world’s strongest Dragon specialist guides you through the Black repertoire he has played successfully against world-class opposition. Drawing on his deep understanding as a lifelong Dragon exponent, Jones explains the key concepts and supports his recommendations with cutting-edge analysis. This volume deals with the 9.0–0–0 variation of the Yugoslav Attack, along with the Classical and White’s various other tries.
Please see my review of these twin volumes under Volume One.With respect to Volume Two readers may wish to be aware of two "choices" Jones' has made.- Against the Classical main line he has chosen 10...Qc8- Against the Fianchetto system with 7 Nde2 he has chosen 7...Bd7!? and 8...Qc8Peter Heine-Neilsen's gives the more "mainline" recommendations of 10...Rc8 and ...Rb8 respectively on his twin video series - although the analysis is less comprehensive.
