It’s been two long years since Katie MacAlister last delved into the Dragon series with Sparks Fly. When we last left them, the Dragon Weyr was more or less intact, with the Green, Silver, Light, Blue, and Black alike. The only missing group seemed to the Red Dragons.When it was announced that the next Dragon Book would be Kostya’s story, I wasn’t too overly thrilled. As a character in previous books, Kostya seemed to be fa wee bit too dark (he did spend 7 years in captivity), he was forever scowling, He was constantly on his pedestal regarding the return of the Black Dragons to the Weyr and then saddled with the whiney Cyrene ~ he was a wee bit too much over the top. Granted at the end of Sparks Fly he had denounced Cyrene as his mate ~ finally! But being a Katie MacAlister book I knew the story would be at least entertaining.I am more than happy to say ~ Dragon Fall is a delightful surprise!The story introduces a new character, Aoife Dakar. She’s had a rough two years. After attending a Goth Fair and seeing things that no one will believe, Aoife is sent to an asylum by her siblings. She arrives home in Sweden to finally reclaim her ‘normal’ life.It isn’t too soon after Aoife discovers that what she saw was all too true! An Other World exists and she is smack in the middle of it! She was also in possession of a magic ring to end al magicl rings!Konstantin (Kostya) Nikolai Fekete has been through the worst of what his world has to offer but it hasn’t defeated him! Seven years of captivity and months tied to Nyaid that only wanted to take, take, and take, and then left him for another water god, he’s decided he is better left on his own.But this curvaceous beauty who is able to take the kiss of a Wyvern has him second-guessing his decision.The two set off to find a way to solve a curse with Jim, a demon who has taken the form of a black Newfoundland dog. Jim, who has amnesia after Aoife hit him with her car, still provides laugh after laugh.Katie MacAlister has woven another wonderful story filled with passion, steamy loving, humor and destined true love. After I finished the story, I immediately began re-Dragoning! ;)It’s been a long two years, but worth the wait! Happily, the next Dragon book, Dragon Storm, will be out this November!
