First thing I want to address is the paintjob. Every mini that I got had a decent paintjob. People who are complaining about how the painting should be better don't understand that these minis are MASS PRODUCED. They do not have the time to spend hours painting a single mini, and it shows. Nothing is stopping you from painting it yourself.Second, the variety in the boxes. Maybe I just got lucky, but I got very few duplicates from my boxes. That's the risk you take with these things. Also, just because a mini appears in this set does not mean it is in the adventure (for example the Pit Fiend). Although I'm sure a clever DM can find a way to incorporate it.Finally, the value. This is a little over 150 dollars for 32 random pre-painted miniatures of decent quality. That comes out to about 5 dollars per mini (not counting rarity). I'd say that's pretty good value.Bottom line; these aren't amazing minis, but at the same time these aren't horrible minis. They're good if you want to replace the standard cardboard chips or other variation of enemy representation. These are good if you want to have a collection of miniatures, but lack the time, energy, and money to paint miniatures by hand.
