Had my eye on this for years, and my wife finally surprised me with it as an anniversary gift. The lamp came packed pretty well, but one small spike did break off. Based on the location of the break, I'd say the damage came when it was packed, not during shipment. Luckily it is an easy fix, and you actually can't see the broken part once the globe is in place. Haven't been able to hang it up yet, but we tested the globe and bulb that came with the lamp--everything worked perfectly. The bulb appears to be a standard appliance bulb (like what you have to buy for an oven) so it will be easy to replace. It is a hefty piece--the chains are positioned just right to make the dragon hang properly--just make sure you anchor this thing into the ceiling and give yourself plenty of room for it to hang! The cord is placed in an awkward location on the dragon, but I guess there really wasn't any good spot for it. The cord on my dragon is dark brown, which makes it really stick out against the light-colored walls and ceiling where we intend to hang it. That is my only gripe about this awesome dragon lamp, and it is just a personal thing...dark cord might be perfect for everyone else!The design on this dragon is just really nice. If you like medieval fantasy and dragons, you want this.
