I have so many Bruce Lee collections it isn't funny.I have the Master Collection, which are the US releases most of us grew up on. So The Big Boss is Fists of Fury, Fist of Fury is Chinese Connection and Way of the Dragon is Return of the Dragon. It's a nice set but we all know the Hong Kong versions have some additional scenes.I have the Ultimate Collection which are the original Hong Kong films, unfortunately Fortune Star felt the need to update some of the sound effects and they sound really ridiculous. Almost as bad as when George Lucas decided to fix one of his films with additional effects.Thankfully the Criterion Collection has come to our rescue, all of the Hong Kong films (as released) with both Chinese and English audio in glorious original widescreen presentation. If you grew up watching pan and scan versions on cable tv, it can feel like a completely new movie because suddenly there are extra people in every scene. Also includes the Hong Kong release of Enter the Dragon and the US theatrical version which I personally think was a better edit. This film is usually not found in Bruce Lee collections as it was a Warner Bros film. There are also extras galore from documentary stuff to expert commentary on the films.Don't expect miracles, the films can be a touch grainy and I think they restored them as much as they were able. But with modern TV resolutions poor stock and out of focus stuff really stands out. But when it's clean, it's really clean. This is also the best these films have ever looked. This is the most enjoyable Bruce Lee collection I've ever had.Come on it’s Bruce Lee in Blue Ray had to have itI had the Bruce Lee collection on DVD but on a 70 inch screen it was almost unwatchable with the blurry and fuzzy image. The blu ray set is a vast improvement in picture quality in my opinion and is comfortable to view even on larger screens. Don't expect it to be as crisp as a modern day HD movie but for a 70s movies it's about as good as you're going to get. You will see some ghosting artifacts around the characters at times when they are moving (likely more noticeable the larger your screen is) but it still a far better image then the DVD set. Note that if you want the English dubbed versions you might be familiar with you need to go into set up first and switch it to that option before you play the movie. The default play mode for some of these movies is in a foreign language with English subtitles. The opening music is different to depending on if you watch the foreign language or English dubbed version of the Golden Harvest films. This collection is well made, my favorite part being the multiple languages/soundtracks for each film. The way the disk are packed is a little awkward, with them being stacked on top of each other, not a fan of thatIn my youth I've enjoyed many films. Nothing more then the work of Bruce Lee. I've waited for a version like this. The Blu Ray transfer was clear and unforgettable. It was watching these films in a whole new way. The master is back.Box set arrived in perfect condition. Insane amount of content about the films & life of Bruce Lee. Unlike many other collections this includes Enter The Dragon. Picture & audio are beautiful. Exactly what one would expect from The Criterion Collection of Bruce Lee Films. Don't even look at the other sets this is the best by far & the only one worthy of The Dragon himself.I bought this collection to introduce my son to the legendary Bruce Lee. Original language versions of his early classics, not the badly dubbed versions I watched as a kid.Criterion has done its usual first-class job on this Blu-Ray set. Bruce Lee's early movies, The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, and The Way Of The Dragon are beautiful to see and look like new. The soundtracks are also much improved. However, the subtitle translations remain less than optimal since frequently they have the actors saying words that are not exactly close to the the script. This, of course, is the price of dubbing the movies into English. Both the theatrical release and the special edition of Enter The Dragon are included, and Game of Death II is also included. If you are a Bruce Lee fan, this Blu-Ray set is a must-have!Finally got one when the price dropped to an affordable one. After owning these films on vhs when I was younger and only seeing the cut versions, I got the Medium Rare blu rays and was disappointed with the audio. Within weeks this Criterion set was announced and i knew I had to get a multi region player and go for this set. Finally these films have been given proper service at last. The best audio available and great picture quality. All his films plus Game Of Death 2 which I prefer to the first one. This one has better use of footage of Bruce than the awful first film which is only saved by the 11 mins of footage. The set also contains Game Of Death Redux which compiles 45 mins of footage with new sound effects and score and serves as a better option than struggling through the Game Of Death original ! This is now my go to version when I next do a Bruce marathon. A lovely set as you can expect from Criterion. Great extras and the added bonus of a 2K print of Enter The Dragon theatrical version. Can't recommend it enough. This is an amazing set to have, worth having for any collector. The only issue is, the presentation isn't quite as good as the legacy collection. You'll also need a region A or region free bluray player to watch this.I think the UK have given up on making a nice Bruce Lee boxset, the last nice one that they had was the 30th anniversary boxset. The transfer is lovely so you won't be disappointed. The booklet inside is very cheaply made, so much more could've been done here. This is my 2nd criterion set and they all seem to be very similar presentation wise. I would highly recommend for any collector.Best versions for image quality on Blu-Ray hands down.Big Boss, Fist of Fury & Way of the Dragon look great even Game of Death looks better than other Blu-Ray versions.Game of Death II is a upscale from a SD Transfer.Enter the dragon you may wanna buy the newer transfer. Apart from that a great set to own.A three star was given because it was delivered a few days before the designated delivery date. However, none of the discs were compatible with my DVD Blu-ray 3D machine. i also tried it on my computer DVD reader but it failed there too.Good to get Bruce Lei early work, liked it for my movie collection, good quality as far as I'm concerned and great price watch them often not ashamed to say, more entertaining than some of the rubbish they spout out now, in my humble opinion.
